Cyrus Ware (1799)

“Charles Bulkey was the first lawyer, and Cyrus Ware, who came here in 1799, was the second.  Judge Ware’s youngest daughter, Mrs. Joel Foster, is still living and resides in Montpelier.  Mr. Ware was the Montpelier representative in the general assembly in 1805, and to his efforts, seconded those of David Wing, Jr., then Secretary of State, was due the passage of the act making Montpelier the capital of the state.”
