“1709-10 Feb. 22. Hancock, John, of Allowayes Creek alias Mounmouth River, husbandman; will of.  Wife Mary. Sons—John, William, Edward, Nathaniel, Joseph, Jonathan; daughters—Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Hannah. Plantation on Allowayes Creek between Josiah White and the Maple Swamp or Swamp Bridge, do. of 250 acres, where Wm. Wright now dwelleth, 250 a. of the tract supposed to belong to Jerimiah Powell, 250 a. next to Ephraim Allen, 400 a. at the upper end of Thomas Wright’s land, given to testator by ‘my father Nathenell Champness.’ Personal estate. The wife sole executrix. Witnesses—Ephraim Allen, Samuel Bladinbird, John Firth, John Paine. Codicil of the following day, requiring the sons to sell their real estate only to a brother. Witnessed by John Paine, John Firth and Joseph Ware. Proved March 22, 1709-10.
