”THE FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.
The church met in January, 1867, and after a season of conference and prayer, it was voted unanimously to unite with the Society in calling Rev. Mr. Barton of Saxtons River to become pastor of this church and people. It was also voted that J. B. Ware and Harvey Burnap act for the church in calling a Council of churches to settle Mr. Barton.”
