John Ware (1796)

This five item collection consists of documents relating to a lawsuit filed by John Ware to collect money owed to him as the assignee of Hugh French. Daniel Boone and John Grant were the defendents named in the lawsuit. Boone and Grant signed a prommissory note for the sum of 300 pounds ‘current money’ in 1791. The suit was filed to collect the money in 1796, a year after Ware became the assignee. The collection also contains a promissory note signed by John Ware. He promised to repay Daniel Boone 30 pounds in 1796. There is also a court summons for the appearance of Boone and Grant in the Campbell County Court.
