”[This building was situated on the west side of Willamette street, between Seventh and Eighth streets on the site now (1884) occupied by the Home hotel.] …The upper story was then used as a printing office and a small paper published there, the first paper published in Eugene City, called the Pacific Journal. The paper was edited by Prof. J. H. Rogers, with Brother Joel Ware as compositor, who, by the way, helped to get out the first number.”
