”Stephen Smith, third son and fifth child of Peter and Ruth (Nichols) Sanborn, was born March 3, 1811, and died at East Andover, October 11, 1865. He was married in 1834 to Mary Shepardson, who was born in Guilford, Vermont, September 4, 1812, and died at Potter Place, Andover, June 7, 1849. … Mr. Sanborn married for his second wife Mary Jane Ware, of Andover, who survived him over twenty years, and died in Henniker.”
