James A. Ware (1901)

”Iberville

Hon. James A. Ware, owner of the magnificent Belle Grove sugar estate, was at Plaquemine this week and speaks favorably of his cane crop which is unquestionably a fine one, for Mr. Ware usually estimates under rather than above the average. Belle Grove is an up-to-date house and no changes will be made this year. Mr. Ware will watch with interest the experiments for oil and gas shortly to be made on the plantation of his neighbors, the Messrs. Berthelof. and says he would willingly give a more favorable option to the parties who would like to bore.”
