LAUREL —

The beloved Alice Faye Ware Payne, age 70, was born on July 14, 1941, in Starkville, and was the second daughter of Reverend Ulysses S. Ware and Allie Taylor Ware of that city. She expired on Sept. 29, 2011, at her home in Laurel.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was retired from the United States Postal Service. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Ulysses S. Ware, Jr.

Alice Faye leaves to mourn her passing Cleveland Payne, her husband of 46 years; a son, Kenneth Victor Payne, his wife Michelle and their two children, Alexis Joy and Alexander Kenneth Payne of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Estella Lasean Payne, of Laurel, and a mother, Allie Taylor Ware of Starkville.

She also leaves six sisters, a sister-in-law, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church with burial in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at the church.

Chapel of Angels Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
