Mary J. Kyser was born in Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 1, 1852.
With her parents she moved to Berlin township, Ionia
ounty, where she resided until her marriage with Daniel
Misner, of Lowell, Nov. 28, 1869. To this union was born
one son, Edward D. Misner, lately of California. After
the death of her husband in 1879 she made her home with
her parents until her marriage with Stephen A. Ware, of
Boston township, Ionia county, which occurred Sept. 28, 1888.
To this union was born one daughter, Jessie Audie Ware,
who preceded her mother to the better land in her 17th
year, Oct. 7, 1908 and for whom she has always mourned,
her great consolation in her last illness was that she
would soon be with Jessie.
She peacefully fell asleep to awake in her heavenly home,
Sept. 20, 1919, aged 67 years and 19 days. She leaves to
mourn: her devoted husband, two stepsons, for whom she
cared with a mother’s love, her son Edward and wife, who
has proved a tender and loving daughter, being ever constant
and devoted attendant on her last illness, one grand son,
Gerald Misner, and a loving granddaughter, Vertrice, who
has been a ray of sunshine to brighten her last days, two
brothers, Charles Kyser of Lowell, and Albert Kyser of
Buffalo, N.Y., who mourns a loving and beloved sister, several
nephews and nieces who will miss the kind words of Aunt Male,
as she was familiarly called, also a large circle of life
long friends and relatives who pay tribute to her kind and
loving disposition, always thoughtful for the comfort and
welfare of others. Their consolation: what is their loss
is her gain.
The funeral service was held from the home Monday afternoon,
Sept. 22, Rev. Lash, of Lowell, officiating. She was laid
to rest in the South Boston cemetery by the side of her
daughter Jessie.
The singer and songs were her request, the same as at her
daughter’s funeral 11 years ago, Miss Anna Maynard, accompanied
by Mr. Stocking at the piano. The pall bearers were also
the same, six sons of her brother, Charles Kyser.
Friends and relatives attended the funeral from Lansing, Hastings,
Ionia, Clarksville, Lowell and Chicago."
