“Walter Ware, 64, 519 E. Mary St., died suddenly at his home at 5:45 PM Wednesday. He suffered a heart attack. Mr. Ware was the son of James and Ellen Ware born September 12, 1882 in Wapello County. He had lived in the county all his life and in Ottumwa for almost 40 years. For the past 12 years Mr. Ware had been a salesman for the Raleigh Food Products company in and around Ottumwa. He was a member of the Church of God and of the a. O. U. W. He married Laura Kuhn July 30, 1913 she survives him. Also surviving are two daughters, Ms. Delilah Ware, at home and Mrs. Dorothea Jemison, Ottumwa; his mother, Mrs. Alan Ware, Ottumwa; three brothers, Frank, Ed and John, and three sisters, Mrs. Estella Fleer, Mrs. Mary Leonard and Mrs. Margaret Swanson all of Ottumwa. His father and one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:30 PM at the Johnson funeral Chapel. The Rev. Charles A. Albin of the Church of the Brethren and the Rev. J. C. Guest of the Church of God will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ellis Newton, Walter Selix, Cory Hunt, John Howard, Phillip Myers and Herman Yates. The body will be at the home until 2:30 PM Saturday.”
