Ava Hawkins Obituary, 1997

"LOCKNEY - Ava Hawkins, 107, of Quitaque died Friday, 
May 9, 1997.

   Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the First 
United Methodist Church of Quitaque with the Rev. Steve
Ulrey, pastor, and the Rev. Lynn Dill of the Church of 
God in Denver City officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven 
Cemetery by MooreRose-White Funeral Home in Lockney.

   Mrs. Hawkins was born in Snyder and attended Elkins 
schools. She married Bill Ware in 1906 in Kent County.  He 
preceded her in death. She married Pierce Hawkins in 1936 
at Quitaque. He died in 1962.

   She worked as a clerk at Patterson Dry Good Store 
in Quitaque. She also was preceded in death by a son, 
Oliver Keith Ware, and a daughter Iva Ernestine Ware.

   Survivors include a nephew, Sid McFall of Quitaque; 
and a niece, Ava Gay Dill of Brownfield.

   The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.

   The family will be at the home of Verona and Bertram 
Jack in Hereford."
