Clyde Wesley Luck Obituary, 2001

Clyde Wesley Luck was born Thursday, May 12, 1910, in
Crawford County, Mo., a son of the late Thomas Edward
Luck and Mattie Ora Luck (nee Halbert).

He entered eternal rest Friday, February 2, 2001, at his
home near Steelville, Mo., at the age of 90 years, 8
months and 21 days.

On January 6, 1937, in Steelville, Mo., Clyde was united
in marriage to Jewell Ware. Three sons were born to this
union. Clyde and Jewell enjoyed over sixty-three years together.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by
two brothers, Thomas C. Luck and Johnnie R. Luck and
one sister, Hazel Harmon.

Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted
wife, Jewell Luck, of Steelville, Mo.; three sons, Darrell
Luck of Steelville, Mo., Leroy Luck and wife Patricia of
High Ridge, Mo., and Tom Luck and wife Bettty of Daytona
Beach, Florida.

Four sisters, Pearl Woods of Steelville, Mo., Ada Schwent
and husband John of Cuba, Mo., Daphna Ramori and husband
Domenic of Cuba, Mo., and Mary Gregory of St. Louis, Mo.;
seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Clyde was a brother, but more than just a brother. He was
a father that was more than just a father. He loved his
family as much as they loved and respected him.

He was a friend who was always there when needed, no matter
what the circumstances. Regardless of the job that needed
to be done, he was always there without having to be asked.
With his quiet manner he could lead through any job that
needed to be done, but never had to say more than a dozen
words.

He loved being outdoors, either fishing or hunting, and was
always ready to take one more little circle looking for that
last squirrel, or as his boys would say, sometimes the first
one, even if it was five miles back to the car. They would
walk it with him all the way.

Then one evening just at sunset he slipped away just as
quietly as he had lived. Dear husband, Dad, Grandpa, and
Brother, we wish you a happy journey.
