"Evelyn W. Lynch, 90, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at
Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. She was married to
John H. Lynch who passed away in 1973. Born May 8, 1920, in
Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Vida
Leona (Cox) Ware. A graduate of John Harris High School and Lebanon
Valley College, Evelyn taught Social Studies and English in Dauphin
and Lebanon Counties, retiring in 2000. She was also a PA licensed
Realtor. She was active in the local Federation of Women's Clubs,
local garden club, Derry Township Historical Society, and also
supported many activities at Lebanon Valley College. She was an
avid world traveler and an avid reader. She was preceded in death
by her husband John H. Lynch, two sisters, Etta LaRue Ware and
Emily L. Ware; and two brothers, Arlen Frank Ware and Earl W. Ware.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia, wife of Roger Maurer, Manheim;
and a son, Rev John H. Lynch and wife Sharon, Palmyra; five grand-
children, Patricia A. Kovatch, Oak Ridge, Tenn., Susan M. Evans,
Emmaus, Kathleen E. Kovatch, wife of Luis F. Leon, Los Gatos, Calif.,
William J. Kovatch, Bethlehem, and Rachel M. Lynch, London, England;
one great-granddaughter, Ana Sofia Leon Kovatch, Los Gatos, Calif.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at Unity
Church, 37 E. Main St., Palmyra, at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Interment
will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Annville, at the convenience of
the family."
