Marcella Timmons Ware, Obituary, 2007

MARCELLA TIMMONS WARE Our mother, Marcella Rockwell, was born in May
of 1932 to peanut and cotton farmers, Clarence and Ethyl Bond of
Stonewall, Oklahoma. Marcella loved her childhood in the midwest.
After a couple of years of college, she met the local ice delivery
man, Robert Timmons, they fell in love, and were married in 1950.
Together they moved to California to raise their three children,
Renna Clifton, now of Fresno, Robert Timmons of Cottonwood, and
Roberta Quintal. When their children were grown, they moved to
Anacapa Island and were caretakers for the National Park Service for
many years. Life on the island gave her the opportunity to meet
interesting people from all over the world. When Marcella was widowed
in 1973, she decided to return to her real passion, education. She
attended, worked, and graduated from Ventura Community College - but
that was not enough. She enrolled at California State University
Northridge and completed her six years of college in four, graduating
with a Master's in Sociology. While enjoying her new life, she met
and later married Dr. Winthrop Ware. They traveled the U.S. and loved
to camp. Together they enrolled in the Ernest Holmes University of
Los Angeles. After graduating, they were welcomed as ministers at the
First Church of Religious Science in Fresno, California where they
served for the next 20 years. Marcella's love in life was literature.
She loved reading and sharing stories. Her home was always filled
with books of all interests. She was also quite noted for her love of
fountain pens and built an extensive collection of new and antique
pens over the years. Marcella was in fact, the hearth of the
fireplace, the trunk of the tree, a lover of all people and a foe to
none. Her honesty and down-to-earth stability was a comfort to
everyone that crossed her path. Her integrity and simplicity served
as an example to all. Her generosity and outpouring of friendship are
qualities that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. To the
masses who loved her, we feel confident in saying ... she loved you
too. She will be greeted in Heaven by her parents, Clarence and Ethyl
Bond; brothers, Clarence "Bud" and Harold Bond; sisters, Catherine
Pearce, Bertha Coble, Jean Rockwell, Sue Hines, and Ollie Butler; and
great-grandson, J.R. Timmons Oliver. She will be missed by her own
children as well as her loving daughter-in-law, Cindy Timmons;
blessed grandchildren, Corey Clifton, Cassy Clifton, and Christy
Macias and her husband Danny of Fresno, Franklyn Quintal and his
fiancée Sheree of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Andrea and Matt Timmons of
Cottonwood, California; and great-grandchildren Corey, Ashley, Megan,
Elsa, and Savannah Lyn. She also leaves behind her only living
sibling, Wayne Bond of Bakersfield. Please join us for a Celebration
of a beautiful life at Ventura Church of Religious Science, 101
