“WARE FOLEY, AL Tom Meek Ware, age 91, a native of Mobile, AL a former resident of Montgomery, AL and a resident of Foley, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012. Mr. Ware was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII and also served in China. He participated in Honor Flight from Mobile to Washington D.C. on May 9, 2012. He was a member of the Orange Beach United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Tom M. Ware Contracting for over 30 years building roads and bridges throughout the State of Alabama. He was a generous man contributing to many charities and was an avid blood donor. Mr. Ware was preceded in death by his daughter, Gwen W. Shenk. He was survived by wife of 73 years, Edith Cobb Ware of Foley, 2 granddaughters, Teresa (Patrick) Hayes and T. Amanda Shenk both of Foley, grandson, T. Ray (Kimberly) Shenk of Sofia, Bulgaria, 2 great grandchildren, Alexandra and Aiden and son-in-law, Richard Shenk of Spanish Fort, AL. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 at 2 pm at the Orange Beach United Methodist Church with Dr. Alan McBride officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 1 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Honor Flight of South Alabama, P. O. Box 7406, Spanish Fort, AL 36577. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, HWY 59 Robertsdale, AL.”
