William P. "Billo" Ware, 61, of Roanoke died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000. at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika. Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 549 Riley Street, Roanoke, with the Rev. Gilbert Staples officiating. Burial will be in Skyview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Welch. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora Lee Ware of Roanoke; three sons, William Ware Jr., Johnny Ware and Jimmy Rogers Ware of Roanoke; five daughters, Ms. Brenda J. Ware, Mrs. Mary J. Brown, Mrs. Sandra Wilkes and Ms. Sybil Alvarez of Roanoke and Mrs. Mary L. Minnifield of Wedowee; two brothers, Deacon Charles Ware and Ronald Ware of Roanoke; two sisters, Ms. Mary D. Holliday and Ms. Annie Pearl Houston of Roanoke; an aunt; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The body will be placed in the church for viewing prior to the services. Mr. Ware, a native of Roanoke, was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Ware and Vera Freeman Ware, and a son, Patrick. He was the second of four children. He was baptized at an early age at First Baptist Church in the East Roanoke community where he grew up and attended Randolph County Training School. "Billo" as he was fondly known by everyone, was a talented mechanic who was very skillful in small engine repair. He worked for more than 40 years as a mechanic and a welder for the Carey Gauntt Welding Shop in Roanoke. Arrangements are by Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke."
