“Funeral services for Mr. Elathey “Bill” Ware, Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2010 in the Rush Chapel, Oberlin with Reverend Terry LaFleur officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Elton under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin.

Mr. Ware, 76, of Mamou entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 5, 2010 in his residence with his family near his side.

Bill was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Oberlin American Legion.

He was preceded in death by one son, Elathey Ware, Jr.; one daughter, Marlene McDaniel; his father, James Ware, Sr. and one grandson, Nakia Elathey Joseph Ware.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Carrie Langley Ware of Mamou; one son, Craig S. Ware and his wife, Sarah Beth of Oberlin; two daughters, Patricia Ann Ware Duplechain and her husband, Don of Oberlin and Jennifer Lynn “Jenny” Ware Manuel and her husband, Ray of Mamou;; his mother, Cornilia Ware of Oakdale; one brother, Appleton Ware of Oakdale; three sisters, Lucy Chamberlin and Pauline Coker, both of Oakdale and Ellen Glenn of Brekenridge, Texas; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin on Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until his time of service at 2:00 p.m.”
