“Fred William Ware, 96 of Austin died June 17, 1999 at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin.
Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. – Noon at the church.
Fred is survived by his children: Carol Rickheim of Austin; Roger and wife Gladys of Hudson, Wis.; Leland and wife Suzette of LeCenter; Dawn and husband Charles (Chuck) Tatrick of Hilman; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann and husband Nylo Schmalz of Westbrook and brother Harold Schultz of Washington D.C.
He was preceeded in death by wives Fern and Edna; sisters Evelyn and Helen; brothers Art, Homer and Ted.
He was born Sept. 1, 1902 in Langdon, ND to Carl and Susie (Unger) Schultz. He moved to Lamberton with his family as a child and attended country school. On June 9, 1926 he married Fern Albertson in Minneapolis. He lived in Bernadotte, Lafayette, Redwood Falls and Hillman before becoming a resident at St. Mark’s Lutheran home in Austin in 1997. He farmed and managed a grain elevator, and later was a school custodian. Fern died in May of 1979, and he re-married. He was a former member of Sharon Lutheran church in Lamberton, the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, was a volunteer fireman and acted in community plays.”
