“HERMISTON — A graveside funeral service for Gerald F. Ware will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Stanfield on Monday at 1 p.m.
Mr. Ware, 87, of Hermiston, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1915, at Mound Valley, Kan., to John William and Maude D. Smith Ware.
A longtime Stanfield resident, Mr. Ware moved to Hermiston in 1973.
On Feb. 26, 1973, he married Blanche Wallace at Walla Walla.
For many years Mr. Ware was employed by the Hermiston Irrigation District as a mechanic/jack-of-all trades. He had also had his own mechanic shop at Stanfield where he did welding and fabricating.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Hermiston.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Blanche Ware, of Hermiston; son, Wayne Wallace of Stanfield; sister, Louise Nevins of Glendora, Calif.; several nephews at Hermiston and several relatives in Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maude Ware, by a sister, Dora May Mann, and a brother, Cecil Ware.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vange John Memorial Hospice.
