“Juanita Ashley Sharp Ware, 93, Lexington, KY passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2003, 9:10 pm at Rose Manor Health Care Facility. The daughter of the late John Treely Ashley & Flora Hill Ashley of Oakdale, Morgan Co. TN, Juanita was born August 28, 1910. After a 20+ year career, she retired from US Civil Service as a supervisor of the female unit at the Federal Medical Center, Leestown Road, Lexington, KY. Juanita was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, & American Federation of Government Employees, Local 817, AFL-CIO Union. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Juanita united in marriage with Charlie Sharp in 1931, & resided in Oakdale, TN. Into this union one daughter, Geri, was born on June 14, 1932. Following employment with the Southern Railroad, they relocated to Danville, KY in 1933. Juanita faced the many hard times with determination to do the best she could, for her daughter & their future. In 1942, the marriage was dissolved, leaving her the sole provider. Working a demanding job, at the lunch counter & fountain at Boyle Pharmacy for several years, she was blessed to meet Stanley A. Ware. They were wed in Danville, in 1947. Juanita worked as a Dental Technician for Dr Montgomery until moving from Danville. In 1951, the couple moved to Lexington, KY, where Juanita lived for the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ware, in 1952. Two sisters, Nina A. Moore, & Sarah Jane Ashley, four brothers, Carl E., James O., Irvine H, John T. Survivors include one daughter, Geri S. Burton, 3 sisters, Virginia Collins, Evelyn Cooper & Analyn Shrout, one granddaughter, Trina Burton Howard, & one grandson, Richard B. Burton. She is greatly loved by many other relatives and friends, who mourn her passing. Visitation preceding the funeral service, will be Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at 11:30am with funeral service to be held at 1:00pm, Milward Funeral Home, Southland Dr, Lexington, KY. Following the service, friends & family are invited to the home of Geri Burton. Interment at Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, KY.
