“Mrs. Bettye Sue Cranford Ware was born in Downsville. She earned degrees from Louisiana Tech University in journalism and english. She taught English at West Monroe Junior High and West Monroe High School for 35 years. She served as an elder at the Highland Presbyterian Church in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Benjamin and Mabel Henry Cranford of Downsville; and one brother, Billy Cranford of Lubbock, TX. She was survived by her husband, Donald Ware of West Monroe; her daughter, Cindy Ware of Monroe; three brothers, Joseph Cranford of Miami, FL, James Cranford of New Orleans and Donald Joiner of Texarkana, TX.”
