Mrs. Sarah Ware Obituary, 1917

“MRS. SARAH WARE IS
TO BE BURIED TODAY
AT MT. PLEASANT
Mrs. Sarah Anne Ware, widow of the late James M. Ware, died at her home at Eleventh and Taylor Streets Monday morning at 6 o’clock. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock, with internment in the Mountain View Cemetery. Under the direction of Myers & Brady undertaking establishment.

Mrs. Ware is one of the early Oregon pioneers, and was well known in Clackamas County. She was born in Missouri, November 11, 1835, and has resided in Clackamas County for about 50 years, where she was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her.

Mrs. Ware is survived by the following children: Mrs. Eva May, with whom she made her home; Clay Green, of Oregon City by a former marriage; Mrs. C. A. Rands, of Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. J. E. Wiley, of Palouse, Wa.; Mrs. E. L. Shaw, of Oregon City; J. V. Green, of Oregon City, the Rev. A. J. Ware, of Oregon City. Her brothers are Joseph Myers, of Coquille, Oregon, and W. W. Myers, of Oregon City; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Wright, of Portland.

The funeral services will be conducted from the United Brethern Church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock with Rev. Harry Hart, pastor, officiating. The internment will be in the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery, and the remains laid beside those of her husband, the late James M. Ware, who died in this city several years ago.

Another son, Joseph M. Ware born October 11, 1878 in Oregon City died on July 2, 1888 and is buried in the Carus Cemetery Memorial”
