“Nellie Robertson Ware departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in a local care center. Mrs. Ware was a native of Lake Charles, born November 28, 1924. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ware was a retired employee of W. O. Moss Regional Hospital where she worked a number of years. She was active in and served Lioness Club of Lake Charles, at one time holding the office of President. For many years she sang in the University Methodist Church Choir and with the Lake Charles Choral Foundation. She will be lovingly remembered by her survivors, daughters, Robbie LaVern and husband, John, of Lake Charles and Pat Leiber and husband, Marshall of San Antonio, TX; son, Ronald Ware of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, David LaVern of Houston, Lex Leiber, Kurt Leiber and Laine Leiber Lane of San Antonio, TX, Angela Ware of Austin, TX and Lee Martin Ware of Baton Rouge; five great grandchildren; sister, Shirley R. Bourgeois of Lake Charles; brother Lamar Robertson of Sulphur and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Ware. Her funeral will be at 2:30 pm, Saturday, December 19, 2009 in First United Methodist Church under direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Humphries and Rev. Louis Blankenbaker will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 5 until 8 pm on Friday and from 12:30 until service time in the church on Saturday. Pallbearers will be David LaVern, Lex Leiber, Kurt Leiber, Lee M. Ware, Jon Scott Gwatney and Chris Robertson. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Craig V. Broussard, the staff at Lake Charles Care Center and South Care Hospice for their attention and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Ware’s memory to First United Methodist Church, 812 Kirkman Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601”
