“Former Longview resident Oscar Ware of Woodland, died Dec. 9, 1982, at home. He was 76. Ware was born July 27, 1906, in Montgomery County, Miss. Before his retirement he had been employed as a machine operator at Weyerhaeuser water purifying plant. He moved to Woodland this past September. He was a member of the Robert Gray First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lola Ware, at home; three daughters, Martha Ferguson of Clarkston, Wash., Wilma Hefley of Longview, and Annette Mason of Shingle Springs, Calif.; four sons, W.E. Ware of Longview, Bob Ware of Eagle Point, Ore., and Bill Ware and Dick Ware, both of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters, Dorothy Collins of Mississippi, Sue Highfill of Fort Smith, Ark., Elva Childres of Clatskanie, and Eva Wray of Longview: two brothers, John W. Ware of Pembroke, Fla., and James Ware of Long Beach, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; 12 stepchildren and numerous step-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Steele Chapel with the Rev. Don Davis officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Longview Memorial Park. The casket will remain closed at the service. Steele Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ”
