Sarah Linford Ware Obituary, 2001

“Sarah (Sallie) Linford Ware died peacefully December 19, 2001, in San Bernardino, CA.

She was born Nov 17, 1915, in Centerville, UT, to Edward and Bertha Garn Linford. She was reared and educated in Kaysville. She married Max E. Ware, Sept 19, 1934, in Layton, UT, later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were the parents of one daughter, Virginia Ware. Sallie and Virginia lived in Kaysville, UT, during World War II while Max served in the US Army. They later lived in England, Germany and Hawaii. After retirement from the Army, they made their home in San Bernardino.

Sallie was a member of the Arrowhead Garden club, winning numerous awards for her flowers. She was a member of the San Bernardino Women’s Club, the PEO Philanthropic Education Organization and the Officer’s Wives Club. Sallie was an active member of the San Bernardino LDS 3rd Ward.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Virginia; husband, Colonel Max E. Ware; and sister, Bertha Linford Hyde. Surviving are brothers, Seth J. Linford, Salt Lake City, UT, Don C. Linford, Boise, ID; and sisters, Marcelle L. Blood, Scottsdale, AZ, Zillah L. B. Allphin, Fruit Heights, UT. Sallie lived with great dignity and honor. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Services were Jan 5, 2002 in San Bernardino. Interment, Centerville UT cemetery, Jan 9, 2002 with a graveside service at 11 a.m.”
