SHREVEPORT, LA – Thelma Grace McCoy Ware left us on her trip to heaven on July 29, 2006. She was born March 31, 1921 in Ansley, LA. She was married to Donald Duane Ware on October 12, 1945. They were active church members working with young people for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Nellie McCoy; son Edmond Burnell; brothers Raleigh W. and Henry L. McCoy; sisters Francelia Knighton, Thora Mae Wood and Mildred Warner.

She is survived by her husband Don Ware of Shreveport; son Gary L. Ware of Towanda, KS and wife Connie; grandson Steve Ware of Valley Center, KS and wife Esther and great grandchildren Warren and Emma Ware; granddaughter Shelly Maleport of O’Fallon, MO and husband Joel; sister Nellie Still of Taylor, LA and husband William; brother Richard McCoy of Dubach, LA and wife Wilma.

Thelma lived at home with her husband until her death. She was a wonderful homemaker enjoying her sewing, gardening, art and music. She and Don sang in the church choir for many years. A special thanks to her caregivers Rebecca Middleton, Betty Brown and Patsy Hatfield. Thanks also to Dr. Powers, Dr. Cole and medical staff at Willis-Knighton Bossier.

Services will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmy Eppinette. Interment will be at Woodard Cemetery in Taylor, LA at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be on July 31, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be James Page, Gordon Still, Chad Still, Brian Still, Joel Maleport, and Steve Ware.

The family asks that any memorial gifts be made to the Southern Baptist-North American Mission Board.
