“Chester Lloyd Ware was born to Oscar and Elsie Ware on Sept. 21, 1915, in Long Lane, Missouri. He departed this life on Aug. 25, 2003, in Maranatha Lodge, Springfield. On Sept 30, 1933, Ches was united in marriage with Edith Nelson and from this union, three sons were born. Ches accepted Christ as his personal Savior as a teenager and later served as a deacon in the First Baptist Church, Conway. He answered the Lord’s call to enter the ministry as a young man, serving faithfully for more than 45 years. He pastored in Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kansas, Texas and Colorado, initiating church building programs in the majority of his pastorates. In his later years, Ches and wife lived on West Atlantic in Springfield. They were active members of High Street Baptist Church until failing health required them to move into the Maranatha Nursing Home in Springfield. Ches was loved and admired by all who knew him for his positive attitude and constant smile. We miss him very much and know we will see him again. Ches was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edith, and one brother, Clifford. He is survived by a brother, Ralph Ware; son Fred Ware; grandchildren Jeremy, Katie and Mike Ware; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Alexandra Ware; a son, Jim Ware; grandson Seth Ware; granddaughter Julie Lawson; son Bill Ware; and grandsons Noah and Jonah Ware.
