Cydel Eldon Ware Obituary, 2012

“Clyde Ware, age 83, of Brookfield, died Friday, February 17, 2012 near Meadville.

A funeral service will be Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00 am, at the Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Phillip Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery in Winigan. Visitation will begin Sunday, at 1:1:00 pm and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in the evening; a Masonic Service will begin at 5:00 pm.

Clyde Eldon, son of Ward and Nettie Crist Ware, was born March 28, 1918 in Linn County, Mo. On April 2, 1949, he married Valeta Cattey.

Clyde attended Thudium Grade School, and was a graduate of Green City High School. He was a farmer and drove trucks for various companies. He operated Champlain Service Station in Kansas City, Kansas, worked for 10 years for Kansas City Power and Light, and had managed a car dealership in Clinton, Mo. He also worked for five years at Mark Twain Lake. He had taught auto mechanics at Technical Schools in Kansas City, Kansas and Brookfield, Mo. Clyde was a carpenter and had an inventive mind, successfully building a hydroponic tomato greenhouse where he worked for 10 years. He later built and operated a concession trailer named “The Chuckwagon” that traveled to many auctions and fairs. Clyde worked all of his life until his retirement.

He was an active member of the Winigan Christian Church where he served as an Elder. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. Rebekah Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, of which he constantly talked.

Survivors include his wife, Valeta of the home; three daughters, Vicki Elliott and husband Joe of Macon, Linda Stecher and husband Gary of
Atchnson, Kansas, and Sandy Ware of Bucklin; one son, James Ware and wife Penny of Mt Pleasant, Michigan; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren’ two sisters, Reva Baumgartner of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Ina Finney of Brookfield; one brother, Richard “Whitey” Ware and Marilyn Damaman of Lincoln, Nebraska; a sister in law, Marilyn Dowell; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents’ two brothers, Clifford Ware and wife Audrey, and Ellis Ware and wife Isabaelle; and four brothers i law, Herman Dowell, Leslie Finney, Glen Baumgartner, and Fred
Reinier.”
