“Thorndike – June 4, 1954 – Guy A. Ware, 58, died Thursday evening at a Waterville hospital after a long illness. He was born May 4, 1896, in Thorndike, the son of Edward and Ellen (Cornforth) Ware. He had always lived in Thorndike where he owned and operated a large dairy farm. He graduated from Freedom Academy in 1915.

He was a past master of Unity Lodge A.F. and A.M. of Thorndike and a member of Joshua Drummond Chapter, OES, the Extension Service, and Harvest Moon Grange of Thorndike.

He is survived by his wife Alta Ware; one brother, Charles E. Ware of Unity; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Vose of New Jersey and Mrs. Maude Haile of Bath; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church in Thorndike at 9:30 o’clock Sunday morning with the Rev. Harold Nutter and rev. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery in Thorndike.”
