Ira Peter Ware Obituary, 2005

“Ira Peter Ware, 91, of 101 Innis St., Oil City, died at 4:09 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca.
Born Nov. 3, 1913, in Dempseytown, he was the son of Arthur DeHaven and Edna May Stokes Ware.

Mr. Ware had been a supervisor at Oilwell Supply, retiring in 1975.

He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church. Mr. Ware also was a member of Oil City Lodge No. 710, F.&A.M., Valley
of Oil City, Lodge of Perfection and the Coudersport Consistory.

He enjoyed working around the house and in the yard, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Ware was married July 4, 1936, to the former Edith Christine Gaisford, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Ira D. Ware and wife, Rita, of York, John W. Ware and wife, Ruth, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Thomas D. Ware and wife, Karen, of Kissimmee, Fla.; one daughter, Sharon C. Barr and husband, Thomas, of Seneca; six grandsons; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ware was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Gaston, pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, Pa., 17022.”
