“Billie Jean Ware, 72, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at a local Cleveland hospital.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Decatur, and was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin H. Ware; her parents, James Eugene Miller and Cleo Davis Miller; and one daughter, Cathy Carter.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Carter of Decatur; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Ricky Clark of Valley, Ala., and Jatana and Mark Crisp of Decatur; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Thelma Miller of Soddy-Daisy, and Joe K. and Evelyn Miller of Decatur; nieces and nephews, Vickie Woods and Kelly, Terry and Tamie Miller; four grandchildren, Jamie and Nick Kile and Dylan and Zoe Carter; three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Christa and Zack; and special friends, Betty Letner Scroggs of Decatur, and Vikkisu Palmer of Athens.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Couch officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Decatur.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bowers Funeral Home of Decatur is in charge of arrangements.”
