Evelyn Jane (Powers) Ware, 77, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

She was born March 25, 1927, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Hobert and Josephine (Wipple) Powers. She married Thomas Ware on Sept. 21, 1946. He preceded her in death May 27, 2000. Survivors include three sons, Chris Allen Ware of Greenwood and Thomas Mark Ware and Timothy Lee Ware, both of Indianapolis; a brother, Joseph Powers of Indianapolis; a sister, Ruth Hardesty of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Russell Ware; two brothers, Hobert and Daniel Powers; and three sisters, Mary Trackwell, Joanne Underwood and Bernice Williams.

She was a homemaker and was formerly employed by RCA.

She was a member of St. Timothy Episcopal Church.

She enjoyed dancing with her husband.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135 in Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
