Fred Ware, 73, of Chattanooga, Tenn. formerly of South Pittsburg, Tenn., died in a Chattanooga, Tenn. nursing home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.
The son of the late Alfred and Maggie Belle Burnett Ware, he was an Army veteran and attended Lookout Valley Nazarene Church. Over his long career, he managed grocery stores, worked for the Home Store, M&J, Red Food and Pruett’s.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Alf Ware Jr.
He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Ann Ware, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; sons, Fred Ware Jr., of Chattanooga, John Stephen (Kimberly) Ware, of Hixson, Tenn.; grandchildren, Tiffany Ware and Brandon Ware, of Calhoun, Ga., Zachary and Katie Ware, of Chattanooga; sisters, Mildred Troxell Pierce, of Jasper, Tenn., Ruby Myers, of South Pittsburg, Tenn.; brothers, Glen Ware, of Chattanooga, Ken Ware, of South Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be officiated by the Rev. Preston Brown and the Rev. Terry Mitchell from the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. CST.
Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tenn.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg today, February 25, 2010, from 5–8 p.m. CST.
