“GUSSIE “GIGI” FULFER – WARE DEC. 2, 1910 – JUNE 15, 2007 Gussie Gigi” Fulfer-Ware passed away Friday June 15, 2007 surrounded by family. Gussie was born December 2, 1910 in Snyder, Texas. She married George N. Fulfer on November 24, 1928 in Matador, Texas. They had five children together. In 1941 Gussie and her family moved to California to the Central Valley. She had many occupations including working as a pipe fitter in Kaiser Shipyard during WWII. She sold real estate for Wilen Realty of Modesto, and owned a nursery in Oakdale in 1949. She also worked in the Columbia Candy Kitchen in the 1960’s. Gigi was never afraid of something new. Gussie lost her 1st husband in an accident in 1963. She moved to Sacramento and began the next stage of her life. Here she met and fell in love for the last time with her 2nd husband. They were married December 30, 1967. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Gussie loved her family; her main occupation in life was to be the best mother, grandmother and wife. She enjoyed holidays with her family, cooking, gardening, reading and sewing. In her younger days she enjoyed camping, fishing and made many award winning quilts. Gussie is survived by her husband, Arthur Ware of Modesto; daughters, Earlene Fulfer-Ellison of Bakersfield, Peggie Fulfer-Henderson of Elk Grove; son, David Doyle” Fulfer of Modesto; her devoted nine grand children: Terri Kauble, Kristi Andersen, Vicki Sills, Kerri Hunter, Michelle Boone, Juline Fulfer, Brad Fulfer, Jeff Fulfer and Erin Fulfer’ 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson, and many relatives in Texas. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband George Nathan Fulfer; and sons, Marion Paul Sonnie” Fulfer and Bobby George Fulfer. Funeral Services will be Graveside at Lakewood Memorial Park, Thursday, June 21st at 11:00. Viewing from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday, June 20th at Eaton Funeral Home, 513 12th St. Modesto.”
