Helen Marie Levan Ware, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in local hospital. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Robert and Mattie Margaret Ann Layne Levan and lived most of her life in South Pittsburg. She attended South Pittsburg Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ware Jr.; granddaughters, Kim and Kelly White; sisters Opal Hutchins, Gracie Cartwright, Elsie Levan, and brothers, Victor Levan, and Odie Levan.
She is survived by one son, Billy Joe (Peggy) Ware of South Pittsburg; daughters Margaret (Clarence) White of Bridgeport, AL, Nancy (Paul) Payne and Frankie (ED) Stewart all of South Pittsburg; brother, Joel David “JD” (Virginia) Levan of Chickamauga, GA; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 am. CST Saturday, January 20, from the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg with Rev. Darrell Nunley officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 pm CST Friday, January 19, at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Jasper.
