Ryan Derrel Ware Obituary, 2007

Ryan Derrel Ware

Ryan Derrel Ware passed away on November 19 at the young age of 30, after a courageous battle against cancer for four and a half years.

Born in Upland, CA, he lived life to the fullest; from the first breath he took until his last days of outliving his prognosis. To many he was known as a fighter, but to those who knew him well, knew the warmth and kindness of his heart.

He grew up fearless, enjoying activities such as dirt bike riding, surfing, soccer, swimming, skating and waterskiing. Ryan also had an active social life which consisted of friends, women, nice cars and good times. He graduated from Rancho Cucamonga H.S. in 1995, where he noticed his love and admiration for artwork. After moving from place to place, including living in the “infamous white van” down by the beach, he found an interest in joining the United States Marines.

“Semper Fi” is a tradition that will outlive any one life. After serving his country, Ryan found a passion which enabled him to utilize his talent with the arts in cabinetry. After two years in his career, he was recalled back into service to train Marines for Iraqi Freedom. This is where he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and his strength and courage would be tested. Never once complaining of pain, Ryan will be remembered by his valor, love for family and friends, and fearlessness. He is survived by his parents, John and Debbie Ware; brother, Dustin; sister-in-law, Emily; cousins Sean, Brandon, Ron, Chrissy; Uncle Randy, Aunt Solveig and Uncle Ron; and many other friends and family. While only blessing us with his presence for a short while, his commitment to the meaning of “Carpe Diem” in its purest form will be carried on for years to come. Visitation will be held at Water of Life, 7625 East Ave., Fontana Monday November 26, 7:00 to 8:30 PM and services will be Tuesday, November 27, at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn, Covina.
