“Bertie Mae Jordan Ware, 96, of 2615 W. Main St., died Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997.
Mrs. Ware was a daughter of the late C.A. Jordan Sr. and Addie Ora Echols Jordan and widow of N. J. Ware. She was a homemaker and former manager of Community Cleaners. Mrs. Ware was a member of the Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church and was the last member of the first class of the Franklin Springs Institute which later became Emmanuel College. She was preceded in death by a son, James Ware.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. A.D. Beacham and the Revs. Raymond Carr, John Swailes, Ronnie McKenzie and Tim Marriner officiating. Burial will be in the Franklin Springs City Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.
Survivors include a daughter, Ora Belle Hill, Winterville; a son, Nat Ware, Charlotte, N.C.; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bertie Mae Ware Scholarship Fund c/o Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, Ga., 30639.
