“GULFPORT — D. W. Ware, 59, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, in Slidell.
Mr. Ware was born June 22, 1939, in Foxworth and had been a resident of Gulfport for over 40 years. He was employed with Coast Materials of Gulfport for over 20 years and was an Army veteran. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony L. Freeman; his parents, Joseph Ware and Gladis Ware; and two brothers, John L. Ware and J. W. Ware.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Ware; a daughter, Carla Cohea; two sons, Wesley Ware, all of Gulfport, and Tracy Ware of San Diego; two stepdaughters, Shawn Fant and Dixie Williams; six stepsons, Reggie Treadwill, Charles Freeman Jr., Glyn Freeman, Calvin Freeman, and David Freeman, all of Gulfport, and Abram Freeman of Dallas; three sisters, Margaret Wyche and Desiree McKinney, both of Compton, Calif., and Dorothy Shelby of Biloxi; three grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at George and Lillian Lockett Memorial Chapel in Gulfport where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery. Lockett-Williams’ Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.”
