Emett A. Ware Obituary, 1984

“Emett A. Ware, 78, died Thursday. April 26, at 5:20 am in Collingsworth General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Ware had lived in Collingsworth County since 1937 and farmed in the Buck Creek, Wilnulcer and Houselog communities until he and his wife moved into Wellington 13 years ago. Mr. Ware was active in the community until his health failed. A member of the IOOF Lodge for more than 30 years, he held all the offices leading to and including that of noble grand. He was a trustee of Wilnulcer School before it was consolidated with Wellington, and he belonged to Faith Baptist Church, holding a number of offices and serving as a member of the Church board.

Born Nov. 22, 1905 in Fannin County, he was the son of James L. and Sinie T. Catherine Ware. He came to Hall County from Fannin County in 1923 where he lived until he moved here. He was married to Annie Ashcraft on December 1, 1928 at Memphis.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Larry Ware of Iowa Park and Wayne Ware of Spearman; one daughter, Laverne Hiett of Wellington; two brothers: Leveree Ware of Bonham and Claude Ware of Amarillo; three sisters, Ora Jenkins and Ruby Emmons of Littlefield and Pauline Neel of Vernon.
