Joe Clark Ware Obituary, 2004

“Joe Clark Ware, 82, of Paris passed away Sunday, November 21, 2004, at his home at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received him into its care.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dean Hill officiating. Burial follows in Meadowbrook Gardens.

The family receives friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Joe was born October 10, 1922, in Petty, the son of John Wesley Ware and North Carolina Plemons. He married Gladys Mae Townsend on November 23, 1941. He owned and operated two transmission shops in Paris as well as two used car dealerships. He was a master mechanic, welder and paint & body shop technician. He owned and operated a transportation service and air taxi service for 54 funeral homes as well as area businesses and corporations. He had been a pilot for many years, and flying was a great joy to him. He was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, on January 20, 1983; his parents; sisters, Mattie Lou Fox and her husband, Marvin, Mary dadine Nicholson and her husband, Lloyd Clifton Nicholson, Ollie Mae Chaney and her husband, Ray, and Eula Belle Ware; a great-nephew, Nicholas Clifton Nicholson; and a brother-in-law, Earl Burke.

He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Jane Denson Wright, of Paris; step-daughter, Narissa Wanema Wright Barrett of Paris; step-son, Kelvin Aaron Wright of Elk City, OK; one sister, Johnnye Burke of Tow; one sister-in-law, Sharon Thornton of Paris; nieces and nephews, Lloyd (Nina Gene) Nicholson of Honey Grove, Larry (Judy) Chaney of Soper, OK, Ann (Wayne) Tomblin of Paris, Annette (Rod) Walles, Donna (Alec) Pearson, Wanda (L.R.) Simpson Jr.; four grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.”
