“Leslie “Uncle Bill” Ware, 79, of Russellville, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1925, at Ozone Mountain, to Lee Otto and Ilien Wemmer Ware. He retired from the United States Army, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Prior to his service in the Army, he served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Mill Creek Church of Christ and the Holla Bend Bow Hunter’s Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Bearl Reed.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rebecca Brown Ware of Russellville; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Billy A. and Jorise Ware of Russellville, Stanley A. and Dee Ware of Dickinson , Texas , Larry D. Ware of Russellville, and Lee Ware of Israel; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy Ware Ross of Russellville, Cindy Ware Titsworth and Steve Titsworth of Paris, and Margaret Ware Wiley and Andy Wiley of Alma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Nolan D. Ware of North Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ware of Colorado; a sister, Lucy Reed of Dover; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

A family conducted memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Booher Cemetery at Russellville officiated by Mr. Sid Womack. Military honors will be provided by the V. F. W. Rogers-Rye Post 2283.

Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
