Lillie Scoggins Ware, 84, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 18, 2010.

Mrs. Ware lived in the Salem community of Catoosa County, Georgia, for most of her life, and was preceded in death by her parents John and Mattie Scoggins, and great granddaughter Emily Ware. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church for over 70 years, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ringgold Chapter 245, over 50 years, and was a member of The Lookout Council of The Blind. She was well known for writing the Salem News column in the Catoosa County News for over 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha Hullender (Billy) of Tunnel Hill, Georgia; three sons, Phil (Rose) Ware, Dallas. Texas; Peter (Marcia) Ware, Dalton, Georgia; and John (Judy) Ware, Newport Beach, California; four grandsons, Ken Hullender, Ringgold, Georgia; Brent Hullender, Tunnel Hill, Georgia; Matthew Ware, Greenville, South Carolina; and Adam Ware, Tallahassee, Florida; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Hullender, Shara Hullender, Olivia Hullender, Lauren Hullender, and Natalie Ware; two great, great-grandchildren Kaden and Abigail Hullender.

Mrs. Ware is also survived by six sisters, Marie Massengill and Linda Forester, both of East Ridge, Tennessee; Reba Payne, Calhoun, Georgia; Lois Cornelison, Milton, Florida; Barbara Ensley and Johnnie Bramlett, both of Ringgold, Georgia; two brothers, Frank Scoggins and Donald Scoggins, both of Ringgold; and several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday June 21, 2010, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Cavin & Rev. R.V. Wells officiating.

Burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. till 12 Noon at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, PO Box 17270, Baltimore, MD 21203-7279.
