Sherry CreechMrs. Oleta I. Ware, 94, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at her home in Byrd. She was born Dec. 19, 1910 in Byrd, the daughter of Bill F. and Mellie Ann Brock Dent. She was reared in Byrd where she attended school. She also attended Bardwell High School. On Oct. 17, 1928 she was married to Cecil Elmer Ware of Byrd. After their marriage they lived in Byrd. She was a homemaker and mother and helped her husband, Elmer, around the farm. She also sold Avon for over 20 years. Mr. Ware preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1976. She was a member of the Bardwell Church of Christ. She is survived by 2 daughters, Peggy Munn of Byrd and Bobbie Thornton of Byrd; 2 brother, B.F. Dent of Ennis, Royce and his wife, Marge Dent of Snyder; a sister, Etola Neal of Corsicana; a brother-in-law, Earl Stanford of Byrd; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Zelda Stanford and a grandson, Randy Munn. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Keever Chapel with John L. Sullivan and Sam Norton officiating. Interment will be in the Grady Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
