“WARE, Walter M. – {from Whitener} It is with profound sorrow that we learn of the death of Walter M. Ware, which occurred last week in Fayetteville. He spent the evening of an eventful life on a farm a few miles below Whitener and made a legion of friends. He left a wife and several children to all of whom the many friends of the family extend sincere sympathy in their sad affliction. He left behind the priceless legacy of a useful career without any stain on its fair escutcheon. He was one of the nature’s noblemen. During his long residence here he was ever a lofty tower of moral grandeur. In his convictions of the right he was as firm as the enduring granite of his native New Hampshire hill. In the prime of manhood he was a heroic figure in the struggle for human freedom in after years by consistently advocating the abolition of the liquor traffic, he still stood in the fore front of reform. His life was a busy day and death came at its close like the declining rays of sun flood the earth with golden glory.”
