Wiliam Ware (1828 – 1865)

“Husband of Martha Gee Ford Ware, 6/24/1833-5/5/1900. Son of James Jr. Ware, 12/9/1739-1/29/1843 and Lettice Ware, 8/18/1784-11/4/1851.
Fought in Civil War with the Georgia 6th Calvary as part of the Sol Vardis Volunteers, a group that belonged to the same Presbyterian Church.
William Ware was shot in the back on the morning of his return from the Civil War by what was probably renegades who had been bivowacking in the area for most of the war. He died in the Ware home some hours after he was shot.”
