Edith H. Ware, 90, of Forest Ave. died Sunday at a local hospital. She was born in Brookline, N.H., a daughter of William R. and Lucy Estella Ramsdell Hughes, and attended schools there. Mrs. Ware was a member of the Friends Meeting House for over 50 years. She loved flowers and cats. Her husband, A. Raymond Ware, died in 1974. A daughter, Carol Ware McCormack, died in 1991. Surviving are a son, Willard T. of Limerick; a daughter, Natalie Ware Holcomb of West Granby, Conn.; a brother, Willis Hughes of Acton, Mass.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great great-granddaughter. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hay & Peabody, 749 Congress St., Portland. Burial will be in the spring in Friends Cemetery, Portland.
