Ora M. Ware Obituary, 2000

CUBA CITY, Wis. -Ora M. Ware, 81, of Cuba City, died after a short illness Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cuba City, with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Benton. Friends may call from 3 to 8:30 p.m. today at Casey Funeral Home, Cuba City, where there will be a scripture prayer service at 7:30 p.m. She was born on May 4, 1918, in Benton, daughter of Clarence and Meta Fox. She married Chris Pope who preceded her in death. Ora may be remembered by some as a tax secretary for Attorney William Murphy, Fitzgerald and Karrmann, and as a tax preparer and bookkeeper at her home in Cuba City. She liked to play cards and was a well-prepared storyteller. Her hobby was crocheting very beautiful items for others. Surviving is her husband, John “Kenneth” Ware, of Cuba City; a daughter, Mary Therese, of Des Moines; a son, Richard “Rick” Ware, of Sturtevant; two brothers, James Fox (Sandra), of Lewistown, Mont., and Leonard (Ruth) Peacock, of Delavan; and a sister, Sister Mary Fox, OP, of Sinsinawa. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
