Donald L. “Skip” Ware Jr., 67, of 912 Holly Ave., Syracuse, died Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center after a brief illness. He was a native and life resident of Syracuse. Mr. Ware was a self-employed painter and an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen DeMaio of Minoa; six sons, Donald L. III, John and Richard, all of Syracuse, Jeffrey of Anderson, Ind., and David and Matthew, both of North Syracuse; his mother, Leta Ware of North Syracuse, three sisters, Dorothy Marzullo of Cicero, Shirley Lewis of Liverpool and Donna Geer of Oklahoma; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd. Burial is in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
