Eleanor C. Ware Obituary, 2013

Eleanor C. Ware, 89, entered into eternal peace Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Medical Center in Stafford. The daughter of the late Percy and Eleanor (Scott) Baker, Eleanor was born and raised in Putnam, and was a graduate of Putnam High School, class of ’42. A longtime member of St. Martha Church, she had lived in the Enfield community since 1950 and was retired from Acromold Plastics in Ellington. In her free time, Eleanor enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking. She was an avid Bingo player. She is survived by two sons, Ernest Jensen of Enfield, Paul Jensen and his wife, Tammy, of Fredericksburg, Va.; a daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Smith and her husband, Richard, of East Windsor; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Murdock of Pomfret; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both her first husband, George Jensen, and her second husband, Guy Ware; two brothers, Ellery and Lawrence Baker; and two sisters, Carolyn Morse and Joan Baker. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Committal will follow at Hazardville Cemetery. Her family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Donations in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
