Minnie R. Ware Obituary, 1997

Minnie R. Ware, 67, of 102 Alexander Ave. died Sunday in Hazelton, Pa., after being struck by an automobile on Interstate I-81 North. Mrs. Ware was a native of Vienna, Ga., and lived in Syracuse for 30 years. She retired in 1994 as a bus attendant for the Syracuse City School District. Mrs. Ware was a member of Living Water Church Of God In Christ, the church’s Pastor’s Aide and the church choir. Surviving are her husband, Jimmy of Syracuse; one daughter, Gloria Griffin of Syracuse; one son, Lewis Cross of Syracuse; her mother, Susie Mae Williams of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Vera Williams and Cassie McKinzie, both of Jacksonville, and Anna Lee Cobb of Vienna, Ga.; three brothers, the Rev. Henry Frank Williams of Buffalo, Buford Williams and Rufus Williams, both of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Living Water Church Of God In Christ. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 121 Huron St. Garland Bros. Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
